[Review] LA Girl Pro HD Concealer/ Corrector In Natural

Hi Lovelies :)

This is a review post of one of the concealer that I have,
I love this second after my Maybelline Pure Mineral Concealer. haha

I mainly use this concealer for my dark circles because I think it works best there but I've tried it on my blemishes as well. It was so so for me ( I can't put my finger on why)

Took a picture straight away after receiving it in the mail! gyahh hahaha

Pigmentation

Wrist Swatch
Ahh So nice to have natural lighting :3

Really good, it covers with very little product so you don't have to keep building it up to get the coverage you want. I chose natural because I thought it would be quite similar to my skin tone but it was actually a teeny bit lighter so that's why I use it mainly under my eyes. For that brightening effect la~ hahaha

Lasting Power

It lasted very well but touch ups might be needed if you're sweating a lot in the day. I did notice some of the product disappearing but not much. Especially if you set it with powder beforehand. ;)
Be sure to moisturise the area you apply this concealer well because it can get a bit drying and exaggerate your dry skin (Ah maybe that's why) . Small price to pay for lasting power no?

Purchase

I got this concealer from an Instagram shop called aliceandcloud for RM25.00 :) Be sure to check them out because they have many other good products too and brushes! Beautiful brushes. Haven't bought any of the brushes because I don't use that much but if I need to, then I would probably get it from them.

Thanks for reading and I hope you find this helpful
Cheers :)xx

[Review] Avon Ultracolour Lipstick in Berry Berry Nice

Hi there lovelies,

Here is a quick review on one of Avon's lipstick from their Ultracolour line~
They have a lot of lines...

I'm gonna keep it K.I.S.S.

Well this one is called Berry Berry Nice which is a nice berry red shade.

Pigmentation

Wrist swatch

Oh really good~~
Even at 1 swipe, the colour is similar after 3 swipes so it doesn't do the colour build up thing but since the pigrmentation is this good it leaves a stain on the lips.

Lasting Power

It lasts for quite a time on the lips if you have minimal eating and drinking. It won't last you the whole day nor will it last after a hot/ oily meal or your lunch. As I said earlier, it did leave a stain after I eat but that stain goes away after some time as well.
In other words, you might need to pop it out again after eating....stuff, which I don't mind :3  lewl

Fragrance

It has the signature Avon lipstick smell. You won't smell it when you put it on, it's only when you actually go and have a sniff at it (As in bring your nose really close to the lipstick whilst trying not to stab your nose with it).

So if you don't want a red in your face colour but a dark(ish) red then this will be good you.
Here is how I like to use it :)

p.s I'm sorry I don't remember the price. Avon usually have sales (a lot) so you can hop over to your nearest Avon shop or ask your local Avon ambassador.

Thanks for reading :)xx
(I've been awol, but it's sem break and I'm out and about!)

[Review] Chriszen Tear Drop Sponge

Hye lovelies,

So, since I reviewed the Chriszen Moist Cake yesterday, I thought I should let you guys know about their sponge as well. I also wrote in the review post that I prefer to use this kind of sponge instead of the one they provided. I didn’t want to overload the post with too many pictures so I decided to give it a new one.

The sponge comes in a really cute box with the sponge peeking through the transparent cover so that it looks like the Russian doll has a pink body. I think the packaging is similar to the one from Etude House since I saw it before (I don’t own one though).

I drew the smiley face on the picture XD

Unlike the beauty blender, this sponge doesn’t really get bigger if you dampen it and its much more tougher and sturdier when wet as well as when it’s dry. No difference at all. On a video I watched, they said that you don't need to wet it before use but I find that if you don't, its gonna absorb a lot of your product and make it harder to clean. Explains the stain I have right now on the bottom, so I recommend wetting it.

So it's called the teardrop sponge. On the box, "a fine-textured synthetic sponge. It is even more finely textured than the traditional wedges, giving it a velvety texture that is perfect for creating a flawless finish for foundation, blush, self-tanner or other liquid-based products. Clean your sponge using facial cleanser or make up remover, can see how your face stay cleaner, your sponge last longer and your make up look better than ever"

The material is similar to any of the beauty blender dupes out there so if you own one of those then you would know what I’m talking about. If not, then maybe you should try to look it up online. There are plenty of videos and blog posts about them. It says you can clean it with your face cleanser/ makeup remover, I tried and it worked out fine but Chriszen moist cake is pretty hard to get off the sponge. So I used my usual olive oil and dishwashing liquid to remove the product from my sponges.

As for pricing, it retails for RM16.90 in Malaysia so this is definitely much cheaper than the beauty blender. I know I bought one dupe in UK which cost me about £2, so if you consider the currency exchange, it’s more or less similar.

There’s also the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge which I would like to try one day. I heard it’s a pretty good dupe as well. It’s really hard to find where I stay right now but if you’re living in the UK, you can find it in Superdrug/ Boots retailing for £5.99.

Hope you guys enjoyed the post
Cheers Jxx

[Review] Chriszen Moist Cake in 02

Hye Lovelies :)

So I've just finished my exams and having my super short semester break but I want to make sure I will be doing something productive for the internet community. That includes planning the movies I'm gonna watch to get a chance to go to New Zealand!! haha

In this post, I'm going to write about one of Chriszen most raved product on Instagram but it's not something that one can't really get a hold of on the internet for reviews and how-to etc.

In the post, I'll try my best to walk you through the good and probably some bad things about the product. Everything has its pros and cons right...

The one I have is in the shade 02 (pink), there's 01 (light pink) and 03 (olive). The store recommended 02 so..I got 02. I don't really know if 03 is gonna be more towards warm but from the video I saw posted by EvangelineHawa, it doesn't look like it.

So the product comes in a pink bulky packaging so you might not want to bring this in your handbag or something but I think it can withstand travelling. I hope

It comes with a round sponge. I prefer not to use it because it makes it really hard for me to apply the product especially around the corner of my nose and eyes.

When you open it up, you can see spirals which reminds me of the Etude House Nymph Aura Volumer Baby Glow balm that I reviewed some time ago. So, the coloured part is the foundation and the white part is the L-Glutathione (an antioxidant which fights radicals to prevent the production of melanin if my memory serves me right) part which serves to make your face whiter. What you do is mix the two parts to get the shade for yourself and apply it on your face.
Deng! It's really hard (especially with the round sponge) to get the correct amount of foundation and gluta to get YOUR personal shade because if you get too much of the white part, you're gonna end up whiter than Snow White. haha

What I usually do is use a blending sponge (Chriszen has their own one which I think is much much better than the round sponge) with a round bottom and pointy end. That makes blending much much more easier, What I do is I dampen the sponge and swirl the bottom to get a good enough mixture then dot them on my face. Using the pointy end, I blend the product and that usually gives me quite a natural bright looking face. I set it with powder and all is well even though they do say that it sets to a powder finish, I don't really see that though. hmm...Oh well. Doesn't really matter to me :)

The subsequent pictures show the ampoule that comes free when I bought the cake. (hehe cake). So it's supposed to moisturise the face before using the cake. It contains gluta as well as some gold flakes. I don't actually know if it's gold though, I might look up for something in the lab to test it but for know, I'll accept. It kinda reminds me of Clinelle 24K cream though...kinda. So what I do with this is put 2 drops as it directs me to, on my palm then pat it on my face. It actually has some kind of cooling effect but I have no idea what it actually does. Definitely not a primer.

Swatches

Unblended dot
As you can see, I call that a dot. Just in case anyone wants to know. ^___^
Blended
As you can see it blends well with my vampire wrist but my face is a bit more tanned so I had to blend it harder. I guess it has more of a cool rather than a warm undertone to it. My undertone is kinda neutral.

A dot from the Gold ampoule
Not much difference in looks but makes my hand feel hydrated and cool. The different colour is due to different lighting conditions in my room at the time. Cloudy Sun moment.

How I look with it

So...I do look brighter which is good. I put some on my neck just in case I go too white. It did manage to conceal a bit of my dark circles but I don't recommend applying another layer because it's gonna look super cakey. It covers some part of my blemishes and pores as well but I can still see them with my naked eyes. It definitely did not make my face smaller, it's just the camera angle XD hahaahah

Pictures

Ingredients!!

Longetivity

It lasts for half a day if you use it in the morning. If you want to reapply, maybe wash your face or wipe with a wet tissue before applying a new layer to get a much more natural look. It doesn't make my face oily but that would probably be because my classes are air conditioned. It feels slightly oilier when I tried wearing it at home because it's super hot in Malaysia right now.

Price

I think it retails for RM48 something. I bought mine from Sharifah Trading with a discount card so I got it for RM 42.90...I think. A tad bit expensive but it comes with the free ampoule which retails for RM29 or 30 alone so it's a bargain.

In a coconut shell

It's a good product if you can blend it to your skin properly but a disaster if you don't. It took me some practices with different applicators and I found that the sponge works best for me so I'll stick to that. If you just bought it or planning to then practice applying it before actually using before you need to go out or something because you don't want to receive any poisonous apples from no witch are you? I thought so.

I hope you guys enjoyed reading the post albeit it's a bit longer than I used to write but this is usually the case when I writing about foundations/BB/CC creams.

Have a good day lovelies
Cheers XX

[Review] Colourpop Lippiestix in Clique and Frida

Hello lovelies :)

Today I'm gonna share to you guys my review of Colourpop Lippiestix Lipsticks~~
I got mine from an instagram shop called aliceandcloud. You can preorder makeup and if you buy the ready stocked ones, you for sure can get them super fast~ I'm not sure if they will deliver outside of Malaysia but if anyone's willing to ask, go right ahead :)

So, moving on..I do get carried away sometimes >__< The shades that I got was a red-orange Clique and a nude Frida~ I got Clique for my mom as well, she loves red lipsticks.

Clique has a matte finish and Frida has a satin finish

Le boxes

There are no description of the ingredients whatsoever on the boxes. I tried opening their website Colourpop.com but the lippies section has a tiny problem so I can't open it as of when I'm writing this blog entry but I hope by the time you guys check it out, it would be resolved. In their "About us" section, they do state that they use luxury formulas...so....I guess it's guts instincts with this one.

The lipsticks in the tube. Turned out 20% and 100%. Plenty of products :)
The tube is well..white (lol) and you can easily mistook it for a pen if you're the kind that "I'm just gonna stash everything in my bag" kinda person. So, be careful ;)

Swatches on the wrist

Close-up! I love using my macro lenses. hehe

My lip swatches.
From the close up swatches, you can see that Frida is more creamier than Clique whereas the latter is not really that dryish kind of matte. I prefer using my bright lipsticks in gradation because I think it can make you look quite young :)

Pigmentation
They both are very opaque and the colours are on point with the bottom colour.

Staying power
Not bad. Clique of course stayed longer being matte but eating oily food can wipe it off super duper fast. I would say both can stay for about 3 hours with minimal drinking or eating. As of all lip products eyh :)

Fragrance
I don't think there's any fragrance but my smell sense is a bit loopy sometimes :P

So, overall I love it!
If you are from Malaysia, you can purchase it from Alice and Cloud instagram at aliceandcloud. The lippiestix retails at RM32 excluding postage.
Postage: WM RM7, EM RM10

[Review] Maybelline Pure Mineral Concealer in 02 Natural

Hello~

This post will be about one of Maybelline's celebrated concealer (as of what I've seen ;P)
Their Pure Mineral Concealer (Healthy natural concealer with micro minerals) *a mouthful*
Mine is in 02 Natural (I had to literally translate this from Katakana because everything was in Japanese) XD *originally Nachuraru*

Quoted from Maybelline "100% MICRO-MINERAL PIGMENTS
Contains 0% OIL, TALC & FRAGRANCE
Good for skin concealer

Why You'll Love It

  • Blends easily for complete coverage
  • Improves under-eye skin

  • All-day natural coverage
  • Won’t clog pores
  • Ophthalmologist-tested
  • Contains 0% oil, 0% talc and 0% fragrance

For Best Results

Dot concealer onto imperfections or under eyes. Pat with finger to blend."

Them pictures for your eyes only :)

The tube
As you can see...everything on the bottle is in Japanese. I guess it's more for Asian skin tone because there are 3 shades in the maybelline site but only 2 shades in Watson Malaysia and the rest of the place that I found. It retails for Rm21.05 but i got it for RM18 something during watsons sale. The other shade available in Malaysia (or Asia maybe) is 01 Beige. That's more lighter than 02 which can be used for highlighting too. Wanted to get that one as I had thought that it would be better to get something lighter than my dark under eye to conceal it but 02 was the only one available so what the heck.

Wrist swatch
When I swatch it on my wrist, I thought it was a tad to dark but then I realised...my face is a bit darker than my wrists which looked like it have never seen the light of day. It looked okay when blended so I was happy. There was no adverse reaction..so on my face it went.

Face swatch XD lol
I didn't really follow the instruction on dotting it then blending. I don't also usually apply like in the picture (I don't know why I did tha XD) gosh. I usually use the wand and apply 3 streaks making it look like a triangle under my eyes then blending it out. If it's around, I use my sponge but 90% of the time I use my ring finger to tap everything in place. :)
My verdict :)

I am totally in love with this concealer!
Much more than my MAC Studio Finish concealer (NW30) which is a bit dark for since I lost my tan some time ago.
This concealer is very long lasting and it covers my under eye darkness perfectly..I don't know if it fixed anything but I just find it really good at hiding the darkness. I have been searching high and low for a good concealer...aaaaaand I think I've found it. Bummer if they decide to stop producing it or something. I hope not. *touch wood*
However, it does get into the creases beneath my eyes after a while and to prevent that, I use a primer before applying the concealer. Works like magic :)

I have never really tried it for my dark spots or anything because I usually just let them be but I think it would be too liquidy for your spots though. Sometimes I just pat the extra that I have on my finger on the spot and it does reduce the pigmentation a bit. A bit.

So to sum it up, I was not disappointed with this product because I usually can't use maybelline products on my face because it makes my face oily so I'm glad this one turned out really well. Definitely will repurchase this. Maybe two so I can put one in my bag as backup. :D

Thanks for reading lovelies. See you guys soon :) Cheers~

[Review] COSRx Centella Blemish Ampoule and Blemish Cream

Hi lovelies, June already aye... Lemme me just say, I haven't been going out of the house nor have I been using makeup for the last 3 mo...
